Our Story

Established in 1978, Dr. Irene Holloman opened Fort Lupton Dental Group to provide patients with the highest quality of dental care in a warm and welcoming environment. In 1994, Shawna Berndt joined the team as an assistant and trained on the job. Shawna eventually decided to go back to school to become a dentist, and after receiving her degree, she rejoined the team as an Associate Dentist in 2003. In June of 2012, Dr. Holloman retired, and Dr. Berndt purchased the practice. Though the technology and techniques have evolved over the years, Dr. Shawna has kept up with the foundation on which Fort Lupton Dental Group was built.

Meet Our Doctor

Dr. Shawna Berndt, DDS

Dr. Shawna has been in the business of providing comprehensive dental services since 1992. She is exceptionally committed to helping her patients achieve their dental goals – even if it requires going out of her way to make them comfortable and relaxed through the dental procedure.

She graduated from Lamar High school as a valedictorian in 1984. Soon after, she joined the University of Northern Colorado, where she majored in Graphics Arts. She later went back to the University of Colorado, where she graduated Cum Laude from the graduating class in 2003 in the School of Dentistry, Doctor of Dental Surgery.

Dr. Shawna loves a good book, jigsaw puzzles, photography, and arts. In her own words:

“I’ve created beadwork jewelry and other crafts. Painting is a passion of mine that I have very little time for.”

When she is not helping her patients brighten their smiles or improve their overall dental health, she loves spending quality time with her family and three dogs.
